Challenge Accepted!

High schools across the Commonwealth had the opportunity to compete to register the highest percentage of their voting-age student population. The Governor’s Challenge kicked-off on National Voter Registration Day, September 27, 2016, and concluded the last week of April 2017 (April 24-28) during Virginia's second High School Registration Week.

Schools that reached or exceeded 65 percent of their eligible voting population will be recognized by the Governor with the Governor's Award.

Need help registering 65% of your senior class?

High Schools can sign up for Inspire Virginia to support your school in voter registration and Get Out The Vote efforts at http://www.inspire-usa.org/high_school_signup. We can help coordinate student-led voter registration events, provide resources and data management, and organize your school's celebration.

Below is the list of high schools in Virginia who have signed up for the 2017 Governor's Voter Registration Challenge through our portal. We have finalized the numbers for this year's Challenge and are proud to announce that 12 Virginia High Schools have achieved the Governor's Award. We want to thank all participating schools that helped contribute to the success of the Challenge and helped us to register over 3,500 new Virginia voters! Congratulations!
